FINAL SYNOPSIS
CHLOE is a naive fourteen year old girl with a boring mundane life who is simply looking for someone to confide in, she has recently become isolated due to her friendship group changing and selfish parents who aren’t interested in her school work or what she gets up to in her spare time. On Friday evening, after school, she receives a message from SCOTT PHILCOX through Facebook and even though she doesn’t know who he was, she creates a friendship that she thinks will help her through her tough teenage years.
SCOTT PHILCOX, feels just as lonely Chloe and is seeking comfort after his eventful divorce and escalating drinking habits. Throughout his childhood, he experienced constant violence and abuse that led him into his inconsiderate actions towards his wife and children.
They continue to talk and get to know each other. Despite finding out their age difference they discover they have a lot more in common than what they first expected. Conversations drift from exams to their favourite colour, from their favourite restaurant to their guilty pleasures until they both realise they need each other more than they initially thought.
On Friday night, when Chloe was feeling particularly isolated within her group of friends who didn’t invite her to a party, she turned to the one person she knew she could talk to, Scott. He helps her forget about the bad things in life and concentrate on what's important, him. She eventually grows more intimate feelings for him as she becomes accustomed to his complimentary behaviour and naturally loving personality - even though they have not yet met each other. With this in mind, he takes advantage of her innocence, ordering her to take inappropriate images of herself.
His friendly nature turns sour when he learns Chloe is an immature, easily influenced child who is simply seeking acceptance as she refuses to succumb to his sexual demands. Scott feels the relationship is becoming one way as Chloe begins to ignore his constant messages and has becomes uncomfortable with his coerciveness. However, the more she ignores him, the more persistent he becomes. Even though she wants to remove him from her life, she is scared of who might find out about their relationship.
The next day, when Chloe is at the park, Scott is watching her, harassing her through her inbox to walk into the bushes where he's waiting. After much refusal, she gets scared and runs away after he says he is watching her. In the end, Chloe’s Mum receives a message from an unknown number saying ‘Dear Mrs Barton, is this your daughter?’ and a picture attachment is almost opened.
This is the final Synopsis that me and the rest of my group mates did. In our final synopsis, we made sure that every single detail was included. We wanted to let the audience have a basic outline of what will happen in our five minute short film. Our job was to make sure that our synopsis will make people want to go on and watch it straight afterwards.
