What have you learnt about technoligies from the process of constructing this product?
In conclusion, from the start of the year up untill now, our use of technology has improved creating a good short film introduction. When on set, having our storyboards and the way we film the shots was really helpfull because it was more straight forward then we expected. On the other hand, with knowing what shots to do, we found it hard trying to make sure the shots were clear and no one was cut out. Looking at my work now, I think that it is farely good material and in the future I think I will still be improving with the software.
When we was editing our footage, we used the software Final cut pro. When using this software, we learnt a whole new range of things as we have never used it before, it was new to us. We learnt how to use transitions between shots to make it look professional and we have also learnt how to fade in and out of text for the credits such as the actos/actresses name. The main thing that we learnt was how to fade the music in and out. At first we didnt understand how to cut the music to where we want it to be. Once we worked it out,we was able to make it so it was more quiter or louder so you can hear certain things in the shots, for example them laughing. We created our ident on motion which wasnt to hard to make. We copied the film strips of the internet and added text inbetween.
When starting the two minute introduction to our film, we made sure to use a range of technologies to help us with ourfinal product 'Traumatised'
At the start of the project, when we first was allowed to use the equiptment to start for filming for our preliminary task, we wasnt really confident in using it cause we felt like we was going to break it or we wasnt using it right. The main problem we had at first was trying to make sure that the tripod was even and was stable for the camera to be placed on top because we didnt want to watch it back and see how it wasnt even and people was cut out of the shot. When using the camera, I think we was a lot more confident because we have alredy used a camera before so we understood what we was doing. The only thing that concerned us was making sure that the camera was in focus and the shot was clear. We had a lot of problems with the focusing of the camera in the first take of our film as it was blurry.
