Who would be the audience for your media product?
Our target audience is for both male and females who are young adults ranged from 16-25 years old. Generally our film would be for lower to middle class because our target audience aren't that old and also it would be easier to relate to that age group. When filming for our short film we used people as young as our target audience so it fits the criteria perfectly. The actor being 17 and the actress being 18. We had to make sure that we had the right age range of people so it makes it believable for the audience when they go to watch it. To find out information about our target audience we made a questionnaire with loads of different questions on it and gave it out to our many people.
We gave our questionnaire to about 20 people and this is some of the results of what they said:
Firstly, we asked how old they were and there was a wide range of people that come under the two brackets of 15-26. This meaning that our target audience is right because we are getting the correct results back as we hoped.
Secondly, we asked the question 'Have you ever watched a social realist film before?'. When looking at our results we got 70% of people say yes and only 30% of people say no. This is good because our age range of target audience has watched a lot of Social Realist films so they know what they are generally about.
We also asked what sort of Social realist films do they watch and the results we got was:

Kidulthood
Adulthood
Snatch
This is England
These were the main films that come up which was to do with Social Realism when looking at our results. This helped us to work out that most young adults have watched or either know about Social Realism films and what its about.
